The Captiva Island Historical Society depends solely on annual financial assistance from our supporters, to help us deliver our mission of gathering, preserving, interpreting and sharing the history of Captiva Island.
You may ask, “why is my donation needed, and how will it be used?
 Your contribution helps us preserve our island’s history. The CIHS Archives, accessible to the public on our website, contain over 10,000 digitally stored items, including family letters, newspaper articles, photographs, postcards, and audio recordings.
 One of the fundamental ways the we deliver on our mission of sharing the history of our islands is through our programs. Your donation provides the financial resources for us to annually produce a full schedule of stimulating, educational events, with free admission and complimentary refreshments.
 Your support helps us maintain our History Gallery, a replica of the iconic mail boat Santiva, located in the Captiva Memorial Library. To date, the History Gallery has attracted over 30,000 visitors.
